Because the credit bureaus collect and distribute your personal information, you have the right to check that what they are distributing is in fact correct. By law, you are allowed one copy of your credit report from each of the big three credit bureaus annually.

You can obtain your free credit reports by visiting www.annualcreditreports.com. While these reports don't contain your credit score, they do contain the information that goes into creating it. We can give you pointers on how to both obtain and understand your credit reports.

HOW TO READ AND UNDERSTAND YOUR CREDIT REPORTS
